This guide will show you how to pull off brutalities for all characters in Mortal Kombat X and Mortal Kombat XL, including how to set them up during the match. It’s not as simple as executing an x-ray attack, or even pulling off one of the bone crunching, organ annihilating fatalities, but they are pretty rewarding when players can make them happen.

It should be noted that fatalities and atrocities are not the same thing, but both must be unlocked in the Krypt, story mode, or by running them in-game before appearing on your character’s move list. Unlike fatalities, atrocities cannot be performed unless certain requirements are met during the game. Everyone is different, so prepare for a memory task (or just bookmark this page so we can continue to help you in the future). Overview of brutalities in mortal kombat x

A brutality allowed a player to perform an extraordinarily long and fast combo to kill an opponent. These combos appeared in Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 and Mortal Kombat Trilogy before being eliminated, along with the other finishing moves when Mortal Kombat 4 was released. They were introduced after the release of Killer Instinct in 1994. In the game there was a move ending known as Ultra Combo in which a fighter would bruise an opponent with a great combo of over twenty blows. Mortal Kombat, in order to potentially outdo its opponents, incorporated its own form of deadly combo known as Brutalities. Take it one step further, Mortal Kombat’s deadly finisher combo basically killed an opponent and blew them up in a fantastic and gory way.

However, the atrocities were very difficult to carry out. When defeating an opponent, “Kill him” or “Kill her” will appear on the screen and the player can perform a Doom. To do the audacity, you had to perform a long combo by quickly pressing a combination of eleven buttons. Even if it did, the Brutality had what was considered a mediocre payout: the opponent would disappear in an explosion of blood and an unrealistic amount of bones and limbs covering most of the screen. In some versions, the opponent’s bones and limbs just flew off the screen.

Due to the extreme difficulty to perform and unspectacular results, brutality was unpopular. It was removed after the Mortal Kombat trilogy and did not appear in Mortal Kombat 4. The atrocities were picked up for Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks in 2005. They were upgraded to a 3D environment, were easier to access, and were more spectacular compared to the prev. spell. Here they function as a sort of power-up mode that lasts until all Fatality orbs are used up, turning normal attacks into devastating combo attacks, with heavy attacks and throws that instantly kill the enemy.

Mortal Kombat X


Atrocities return in Mortal Kombat X. They work in a very different way than in previous games, however, as the atrocities here are now essentially special attacks or combos that continue on a fatal route to directly kill the opponent in a more violent way. comparable to a fatality. Each character has five different numbered brutalities (two universal brutalities and three exclusive brutalities for each character variation), and some characters also have a sixth or more unlisted brutalities, hidden in a character’s 3 variations, although some characters are hidden Brutalities for them. in certain game updates.

Additionally, Shinnok can also do movement-initiating brutalities that are only copied through his Deceiver Variation and by meeting another character’s Brutality conditions in some circumstances. Kenshi, Kitana, Jacqui and Takeda can also reflect projectiles with cruelty properties to their owners, where Kenshi must be in his balanced variation and Kitana in his true storm variation, and Takeda in his Ronin variation, where Jacqui is a universal cruelty. In addition, there are also Stage Brutalities, similar to Stage Fatalities, where some Stage Brutalities are added to the game with certain updates. After successfully completing a Brutality, the announcer will say “Brutality” when the wording appears in large red words (in a font / style similar to Fatality), followed by the name of the winning character and, if applicable, finally a ” Flawless Victory. ”

Mortal Kombat 11


In Mortal Kombat 11, each character starts with two available brutalities. Additional atrocities must be unlocked in The Krypt or the Towers of Time. Additionally, each character shares a universal uppercut brutality, The Klassic, which hits the victim’s head and spine, which can only be done if the winner didn’t block at any point during the final round. Some of the Fatalities from the original trilogy also return as Brutalities, such as Kabal’s Soul Scream and Kitana’s Kiss of Death.

Brutalities are visceral finish moves that, unlike Fatalities, are performed before the official end of a match. They are executed like a normal special attack when your opponent is near death, but instead of reaching the “Finish Him/Her” screen, the attack will kill the player outright and end the fight immediately.
